Police in Montgomery County are searching for the driver of a white Acura after he allegedly struck a pedestrian before fleeing the scene Friday.

The crash happened near the intersection of Randolph Road and Kimblewick Drive in Colesville around 10:12 p.m.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (CRU) detectives say the driver of a white 2023 Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on Randolph Road when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle mounted a curb and struck an adult male pedestrian. on foot, causing him to fall on the road. The pedestrian was then struck by a white 4-door Acura. Police say the driver of the Acura left the scene without rendering aid to the pedestrian.

Investigators believe the vehicle is a 2009 to 2012 Acura TL, which does not have a rollover and may have more damage to the front, near the ground.

The driver was last seen driving north on New Hampshire Avenue and then west on Randolph Avenue.

Pedestrian Ronaldo Franzese, 52, of Silver Spring, was pronounced dead at the scene.
