The first 1000 miles
The first 1000 km …
Let me start by saying: “It’s a very big car!
To start with this review, my original car was the 2017 Audi A6 Ultra with almost all the options available at the time.
So in terms of comfort, luxury and gadgets I’m used to something.
This year in August I decided to inspire (because that’s what I am) to run electricity. The reason for this is very simple: my employer does not interfere much with passenger traffic, and I still drive 180 miles for it every day …
Although most people can count well, I will write to myself that this equals 325 to 400 euros of diesel PER MONTH.
Because coming close to work (for now) is still not an option, I was faced with the option, to buy a lightweight car that uses less, lower costs in insurance, lower rental costs …… Or electricity …..
After counting hours, I have come to the conclusion that electric drive will be much easier for me. As soon as I said that, since I did not want a “normal” car, I ordered a sportline.
December 16th was a day, and currently 5 days later I already have 1000 miles at the counter.
My review therefore relies on these first 1000 miles, which “opened my eyes” to me.
As shown below, I have made a division between interior, exterior, comfort, use, functionality and financial cost.
There is very little criticism here, the interior is in my opinion indistinguishable from the “big” brand on the market.
The big 13 ” screen shouts like a king on a dashboard.
Connect Carplay / Android Auto to this and you definitely have a screen to say a few things.
All other interiors fit well into this, there are no defects and no folds anywhere.
The Sportline seats fit like gloves, and are great for my “attractive” figure of 1 75 meters.
I advise everyone to take the electric seats, slide back when opening the car, which makes getting in and out a little easier.
There is ample space in the back, especially if you have young children like me who are still in the high seat.
With 585 liters, the trunk is also more than spacious enough for most families who have to provide their mug and toys in grandparents ’homes.
If I can comment on something, a small driver display has very little information about the battery, I can increase current consumption or battery percentage.
Maybe you hate it, or you like it.
Skoda chose not to make an “ordinary” electric car, with stylish mirrors, a bonnet softer than your friend’s feet after getting out of the bathroom, and bumpers that Nicki Minaj would envy.
No, Skoda has opted for a “classic” design.
At these 1000 miles I had a double impression that someone almost did not believe it was a complete electric car.
Personally I think Sportline, with painted side skirts, bumpers with a shiny black accent, is the best. But that is of course an option you should make yourself when ordering.
In terms of comfort, there are no complaints with the Sportline version of this car.
It sleeps (contrary to what some claim) well on the road, not too hard, but still sporty.
Okay, not McLaren, or well, Octavia RS could be a better comparison …
Nowadays you can no longer just say what a person identifies or makes a statement, but Enyaq clearly identifies itself as an SUV. Anyone who complains about sports driving, very soft suspension, leaning on bends, … is allowed to choose a tree to climb.
This is a family SUV, not a Red Bull that Super Max Max Max has to get up from the sweat after driving to the beach.
A few miles behind the teeth I can say “a little” about the use.
A little in my case is an unusual way of saying that consumption discourages me in the winter.
My consumption is at an average speed of 95 km per hour for 27kWh / 100km similar depending on the computer on board. Yes yes gurus, I had to read more carefully before buying an electric car.
But I guess what, I did, eat is cyber fighters.
But then it still falls on me, this use means to me that I only get on my daily journey of 200 miles.
(And this at an average temperature of 8 degrees outside, and the car at the charging station is set on fire)
Of course, consumption in the summer will be greatly reduced, and I will also drive with a different feeling. I now feel that I am paying more attention to my use than before with my combustion engine, and that was not the case.
This is not to complain but to speak the truth, at least that is what my wife would say.
For fans, I drive at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, with low temperatures and hand temperature on the steering wheel at maximum.
According to the garage, I was sure to get 300 miles in the winter.
Looking back, I think they mean the column above if you are pushing another 50 miles towards the charging station.
Ahhhh, accessories and gizmos. Who doesn’t love it?
Enyaq Sportline is equipped with standard car parking and a rear view camera.
Accessories such as the Skoda umbrella, ice scraper I no longer describe for many Skoda lovers.
I also chose the standard Sportline accessories, which are here and there
some packages that really need a little more detail and do what they are supposed to do.
Parking is not a problem with the small rotation, which is smaller than most Shetland horse factories on indoor shows.
As it exits the parking lot, the car brakes quickly as it “thinks” to see traffic coming from the left or right.
Thanks to Enyaq I also know that nowadays branches and leaves can also identify themselves as an oncoming vehicle.
The car also already immediately applied the brakes when I drove over the gate lock. The very high closure of this gate was of course 2 centimeters long, let me just shoot, but I think Enyaq has a “minimum clearance” over two centimeters. And believe me, I know what two centimeters are … My wife reminds me every week.
6. Photo of financial cost
This is different for everyone, Dutch, Germans, French or great Belgian like me. cough.
I have not discussed the purchase price, which is meaningless and is being watched by yourself for two minutes if you put it together on the Skoda website.
It is also different for everyone in terms of driving costs and maintenance.
In Belgium we do not pay any road tax for an electric car.
Yes, you read correctly, nothing, no “extras” of things etc.
That should come with it, and the state of your road surface I hear you think …
With my original car, a dirty, fragrant diesel of 2 liters of 6 euros including AdBlue, I paid about 600 euros for one-time registration and about 700 euros annually.
That is now 700 a year, and 600 one cheap and electric car.
This car drove about 7 liters per 100 kilometers. Which is equivalent to (slightly estimated) 11 euros / 100km on my way (highway).
In addition, oil, filters, watch strap, brakes, …
Enyaq on the other hand drives (currently in winter) for 27kWh / 100km.
1 kW costs 0.21 euros.
This equates to 5.70 euros per 100 kilometers. So this is half of my original car. Added to it is a low maintenance cycle, minimal wear on the brakes and no watch strap.
Of course we have to wait and see what the cost will be if something goes wrong after the warranty period, I can’t answer that now. Maybe not later, that would mean I was dead from the invoice shock.
I advise all Belgians, if you have solar panels and the possibility of charging at home, choose eggs for your money and go by electric car as long as energy prices are still “low”.
Read about the pros and cons “and everything will be fine in the end”, as our mother always said.
We hope this review has been helpful to you, if you have any questions I am open to the comments below.
