Italian luxury car brand Maserati continues to sign on to the electrification of the range with its all-new model: the GranCabrio Folgore. The first electric convertible in the luxury segment on the market, but also the fastest.

Behavioral design

The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore impresses with its iconic design, where sport meets luxury. The car maintains Maserati’s elegant lines and lines, with a long hood and balanced proportions that emphasize its dynamic appearance. The soft-top canvas, which folds in 14 seconds even when driving up to 50 km / h, preserves a beautiful silhouette, open and closed.

In terms of color, potential customers will have a choice between Astro White, Assoluto Black, Blue
Modena, Giada Green, Grid Incognito and Matte Maratea Gray. If this is not enough, the Fuoriserie workshop will be happy to create a personalized shade.

Comfort and modern technology

The interior of the GranCabrio Folgore is a true cocoon of luxury, combining high-end materials and advanced technologies. In the Folgore versions, Maserati continues to focus on its environmentally responsible materials such as ECONYL, a recycled nylon.

Multimedia is also multi-screened: a 12.3″ central panel, an 8.8-inch comfort screen, a 12.2-inch digital meter screen, a head-up display and finally a digital clock.

The sound part is still signed Sonus Faber which offers from 13 (815 watts) to 16 (1060 watts) depending on the selected option.

Electrical performance

Like the Granturismo Folgore, under the hood, or rather under the chassis, the GranCabrio Folgore has three electric motors producing a total power exceeding 1200 hp and a torque of 1350 Nm in MaxBoost mode. This trio allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h.

The declared range is 420 to 450 km with consumption between 22.4 and 23.7 kWh/100 km. The car integrates an 800 V electrical architecture (compared to 400 V for the Grecale Folgore) above all allowing fast charging up to 270 kW.

In terms of road behavior, there is no doubt that it will be better, because, although the press release of Maserati announces a completely new architecture, if you read italpassion regularly, you know that it is really Giorgio 1.5, the evolution of Alfa. The Romeo Giulia and Stelvio platform, which is already used in the new Maserati Granturismo. The weight is rather limited for this type of car: 2,340 kg.

Price

Shown in the configurator from €211,250, the Maserati Granturismo Folgore can rise to more than €230,000 by adding options. Until now, no real comparison could be made, Maserati was currently the only brand placed in this segment. If the Grancabrio was already a niche, very exclusive model, this 100% electric version will probably be even more so.
