While everyone else is switching to quiet and cool electrics, Horacio Pagani continues to spoil us with V12 glory. After an ear-pleasing teaser video, the Argentine grandpa has pulled back the curtain on the latest and most extreme interpretation of the Huayra. As with the Zonda, Pagani has created an evolution of the R, a fierce track day beast.

T-roof

The Huayra R Evo is characterized by a long Codalunga tail, an additional fin in the middle of the new rear wing with active elements and a wonderful interpretation of the old style. T-roof.

According to Pagani, an open roof with a roll bar and a particularly thick windshield frame is inspired by aerial screens used in IndyCar. Horacio Pagani decided to give the Huayra R Evo this treatment after visiting the IndyCar race in Nashville, Tennessee.

Up down

Despite the open roof, the R Evo’s aerodynamic efficiency has been improved and the car delivers 45% more downforce than its predecessor. At 320 km/h, the car develops more power than its 1,060 kg weight. So in theory you can run it upside down. Modified suspension system with additional hydraulics raisedamper (as previously used in F1) ensures that everything remains stable at all times.

Head piece

The absolute highlight of the Huayra R Evo is undoubtedly the engine. The six-litre V12, developed in partnership with racing stable HWA, has once again found a healthy injection of power.

The old Mercedes CLK GTR GT1 engine now delivers no less than 900 hp at 8,750 rpm. The fun doesn’t stop until 9,200. Torque is also impressive, with 770 Nm between 5,800 and 8,200 rpm. Sprint times are not mentioned by Pagani. After all, that’s not important in the circuit. In any case, the top is at least 350 kilometers per hour.

Of course, we don’t have to talk about the price. If you have to ask, you have no money. Unlike the Ferrari Corse Customer program, Pagani provides full guidance during track days in the so-called Pagani Atelier. Take your shot.
