CUPRA Leon ST 2.0 TSI 190 HP. How much oil does it use?

The CUPRA Leon ST looks great, the 2.0 TSI engine with 190 HP is excellent and has a lot of dynamics. What about fuel consumption?

The tested model was powered by a 2.0 TSI engine with a power of 190 HP and a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Basically, it is an ordinary car that can be found in many other models of the company and there is nothing special about it. It is very flexible, flexible, combined with a DSG gearbox it works well, it works well and predictably.

With a little practice and sensitivity, you can significantly reduce fuel consumption, and when traveling outside the city, the car easily enters “sailing” mode. At first I thought that this function is only available in Eco mode, but it is activated almost as often in Normal / Comfort mode. How is the fuel consumption?

  • fuel consumption on the road 120-140 km/h: 7-8 l/100 km
  • fuel consumption on highway 70-100 km/h: 6-6.5 l/100 km
  • fuel consumption in the city 50 km/h: 8-9 l/100 km

Interestingly, fuel consumption is not so low compared to the top 310-horsepower version with 4Drive. True, it is low, but by 1-2 l/100 km in various conditions. Maybe the slightly higher fuel consumption during the tests was due to the weather – constant rain and strong wind – but still, considering the very good …gi, you can’t complain about the fuel consumption. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes a very respectable 7.4 seconds, and the maximum speed is 233 km / h. This is more than enough for daily use. The handling itself is quite accurate, stable, with a slightly sporty character, but apart from the suspension that is too big on uneven surfaces, the CUPRA Leon ST in this version is the equivalent of a well-placed, compact station wagon.
