SKODA DELIVERED 500 FABIA RALLY2
The world’s best-selling Rally2 model in its category, the Skoda Fabia Rally2 has become a WRC2 icon. While Skoda Motorsport successfully launched the new Fabia 4 Rally2 at the start of the season – read our review – the Czech manufacturer is celebrating its 500th Rally2 produced since 2015.
A reference in the WRC2 category, the Skoda Fabia Rally2 has just reached the milestone of 500 units produced, which for a world-class racing car intended for private teams is a great achievement. It is the Italian Delta Rally team that is very fortunate to be the owner of this 500 model that will participate in the Italian rally championship.
Note, the Rally2 model (eg R5) is aimed at private drivers with a maximum price in 2023 of €260,766 excluding tax for a ready-to-drive car. Anteroom for WRC1, Rally2 is equipped with a turbo engine of no more than 1,620cc, which can be taken from another production model. A 32 mm restriction in the air intake limits the power to around 290 hp. The five-speed sequential gearbox and four-wheel drive transmission must be purchased from FIA homologated suppliers.
