Slag. Josh Grajczonek returned to the race and had a killer. Darcy Ward’s unique tournament design

Another installment of the Darcy Ward series took place over the weekend in Banyo, a suburb of Brisbane. Josh Grajczonek returned to the track after a few months off, but did not manage to win this race.

The tournament was held in an unknown way in Europe, scheduled for 17 players. The main series had 25 runs, and interestingly, the previously mentioned Josh Grajczonek appeared on the track only five times, and the opponents entered the circle six times. This did not stop the former player from winning promotion to the semi-finals.

The two best players after the main series reported directly to the final, Tate Zischke and Kane Lawrence, who scored 16 points. The last two places in the decisive race were obtained by the two semi-final winners – Grajczonek and Declan Kennedy. Unexpectedly, Zischke won in the final, which brought Grajczonek, Kennedy and Lawrence behind him. The latter, who took second place after 25 races, can talk about bad luck in this situation.

Let us remind you that the last club in Poland, represented by Josh Grajczonek, was Polonia from Bydgoszcz. This competitor even signed a contract with him for the past seasons, but after the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, he did not return to the race in Europe, but occasionally goes to the track during the competition organized in Australia.

The final round of the Darcy Ward series will take place at the end of September. Remember that the injured Australian took over the North Brisbane center in January last year and has since hosted many events with many players.

In the summer season in Australia, the two most important events here will be the fifth and decisive for the distribution of the national championship in the final (January 11) and the Darcy Ward Invitational. Thanks to the possibility of intercontinental travel, which was restricted in previous years by the COVID 19 pandemic, participation in the final competition has already been confirmed, among others, by. Tai Woffinden, Max Fricke and Rohan Tungate.
