SM Supermalls rolls out PH’s biggest chain of e-Vehicle charging stations nationwide

SM Supermalls, the Philippines’ premier chain of shopping centers, has launched an ambitious, nationwide initiative to establish the country’s largest network of electronic vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Aiming to bolster the nation’s nascent electric vehicle market, the initiative will see the installation of more than 1,000 charging points across SM’s expansive network of shopping centers, with the goal of making the Philippines a leader in the global EV sector.

The move is in line with SM’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy, and follows the success of the company’s pilot program in which a select number of charging points were installed at SM City North Edsa, SM Megamall, and other locations.

The charging points, which are compatible with all types of EVs, are designed to provide a reliable, convenient, and secure charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. To ensure maximum safety, all charging points are equipped with advanced safety features, such as ground fault protection, fire safety systems, and automatic shut-off switches.

SM Supermalls is also partnering with leading EV charging platform providers to offer drivers a variety of services, such as cost-effective and real-time charging, access to nearby charging locations, and payment solutions.

The nationwide rollout of the EV charging infrastructure is part of SM’s long-term commitment to sustainability, and is expected to significantly boost the nation’s electric vehicle market.

The Philippines is now primed to become a regional leader in the global EV sector, as SM Supermalls spearheads the implementation of the country’s largest network of charging points.
