#Volvo continues to improve the comfort and connectivity of its models: With the latest #Over the Air update, Volvo cars with the integrated Google infotainment system get even more functionality. For example, smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay is now possible: Users can now connect their iPhone to the car via a USB cable to access their IOS apps such as Apple Music or Apple Maps directly via the touch screen.

With Over-the-Air Updates (OTA), which have been available regularly since the beginning of 2021, the Swedish premium car manufacturer has been making its cars better and better even after delivery – wirelessly from afar, without visiting a partner Volvo. The latest software is loaded on the main display with just a few clicks. Customers therefore enjoy a high level of flexibility.

“With Over-the-Air Updates, our customers can enjoy new services quickly and easily,” says Sanela Ibrovic, Head of Connected Experience at Volvo Cars. “With the updates, the new Volvo doesn’t stay where it left the factory, it keeps getting better after delivery.”

In addition to Apple Car Play, the recent update also created the conditions for the introduction of video platforms in Volvo models: Videos, live streams and news can be viewed in the car when the car is parked. In addition to video streaming, navigation apps like Sygic and Flitsmeister, charging apps like Chargepoint and Plugshare as well as parking apps like Spot Hero and Park Whiz will be available for #download.

The last OTA update published in April 2022 was rolled out to more than 197,000 vehicles. The new update will be released in 14 markets, including Germany. With each update, the number of cars that benefit from it increases. In April, Volvo Cars also announced that all new Volvo models will receive wireless software updates in the future.
