Engine maker Deutz takes over Rolls-Royce Power Systems

German engine manufacturer Deutz has signed an agreement with Rolls-Royce Power Systems. Deutz for service and sales of Daimler Truck engines in the 5-16 cylinder class up to 650 hp.

German engine manufacturer Deutz acquires Rolls-Royce Power Systems engine technology for a sum of millions. In addition, Deutz wants to take over service activities for engines that are already working.

The acquisition is in line with the growth strategy of Deutz, which already presented a comprehensive partnership with Daimler Truck AG last March.

Engines in agricultural and construction machinery

Daimler Trucks uses Rolls-Royce Power Systems engine technology in its trucks. This covers the service and sales activities of the MTU Classic series and the MTU 1000-1500 engine series. Engines are used in agriculture and construction machinery.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems currently has exclusive worldwide distribution rights for off-highway engines using Daimler technology (MDEG, HDEP and Conventional engine platforms).

The acquisition was completed in 2024

It is expected by the conclusion of the agreement Deutz additional annual sales of €300 million. After approval from the competition authorities, the engine manufacturer expects the acquisition to be officially completed in mid-2024.
