Why are we shedding tears for this Ferrari Enzo

Do they go into the shredder? Did they have an accident? No, none of that. But in their entire lives, these Ferrari Enzo and Maserati MC12 have not driven a single kilometer. Relax!

That’s good, some enthusiasts will say. No, that’s not good at all! A car – especially a sports car – is made to be driven. And if that never happens, then that’s a real shame.

Ferrari Enzo from 2004

Take this Ferrari Enzo, which was built in 2004. In nineteen years (!) It has only been pushed around a little in a closed garage. Its counter shows only delivery mileage: 228 km.

Collectors on the line

Enzo it is for sale in the English car dealer Romans International, which even sent a press release about Ferrari and Maserati MC12 say.

Because the wealthy collectors are undoubtedly now foaming at the mouth and banging on the door. In some ways, the perfect sports car that has never been driven is a holy grail among enthusiasts.

Only four hundred copies

Only four hundred examples of the Ferrari Enzo were built between 2002 and 2004. It has a 6.0 V12 in the back, which is good for 660 hp. One will be auctioned at RM Sotheby’s, for more than 3 million euros.

Romans International does not mention the price of the Enzo without kilometers, but you can expect that one will pay a lot of money for the device. The same goes for the Maserati MC12.

Sjoerds Fact #98: This Maserati MC12 Corsa is street legal

Maserati MC12 from 2005

Because it has also never been driven, with only 333 factory kilometers on its digital odometer. The MC12 is even rarer than the Enzo, with only fifty copies produced.

The Maserati MC12 is related under the skin to the Enzo and has the same rear-aspirated twelve-cylinder engine. Of course, Ferrari did not want to be more powerful, so it stands at 630 hp.

Ferrari Enzo as an investment?

We are always curious to know the stories behind these types of cars. Because why would you buy two new Italian supercars for a lot of money and then keep them for twenty years?

The reason is easy to guess: the first owner bought the cars as an investment. And that is an eternal shame! For two sports cars then, not for the person who definitely entered on them.
