South Carolina: Missing 13-year-old found

The South Carolina Bureau of Investigation is reporting that a 13-year-old who had been reported missing has been located.

The agency declared on Tuesday that the missing youth had been discovered, nearly a week after their disappearance sparked a massive search campaign.

The individual had not been seen since leaving home in the city of Myrtle Beach at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16th. The individual had last been seen wearing black shorts and a blue t-shirt.

A detailed search operation was immediately initiated by local police and the South Carolina Bureau of Investigation. A broad array of resources were deployed in order to locate the missing person, including search and rescue teams, an aerial search unit, and a number of specialized search dogs.

The agency has commended the efforts of all involved in the search, stating that the successful resolution to the case was the result of their hard work.
