Adjustable suspension for maximum control

The tuning of the Ford Focus ST Edition was well-coordinated in the hands of experts from Ford Performance, who also conducted extensive testing on the famous Nordschleife of the Nürburgring for their development work. The 2-way adjustable suspension from motorsport specialist KW features dual dampers with stainless steel housings and powder-coated coil springs with a maximum 50 percent spring rate. Compared to the Ford Focus ST In the Ford Focus ST Edition, the length of the car can be reduced by 20 millimeters more.

Customizable chassis tuning

Drivers can adjust the tuning of the vibration dampers and thus the cornering behavior of the Ford Focus ST Edition according to their personal needs. The level of compression – that is, the size of the upper movement of the damper when the wheel touches the front – can be changed in twelve steps. There are even 16 click positions available for rebound – they affect rebound behavior. As a guide to optimal configuration, buyers of the Ford Focus ST Edition receive technical information with recommended suspension settings for various conditions and routes, including a special configuration for the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. This allows performance enthusiasts to fine tune the release design to their liking.

Improved technology and performance

The improved 19-inch light alloy wheels reduce unsprung mass in each wheel well by ten percent compared to the standard Ford Focus ST X**. Thanks to their low mass, the wheels can execute changes of direction more quickly, adapt better to the road and follow the profile and make better use of the grip capacity of the high performance Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. The visible result is greater agility in terms of acceleration, braking and lateral acceleration in curves. A modern process of flow molding is used to manufacture rims. Light metal is pressed in such a way that it has the same tensile strength and maximum impact resistance while using less material. The Ford Focus ST version is also powered by a 2.3 liter EcoBoost turbo petrol engine. It has a twin-scroll turbocharger with a low profile and develops a constant peak output of 206 kW (280 hp) at 5,500 rpm. The maximum torque of 420 Nm is between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm. This enables it to run from standstill to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds, and the Ford Focus ST Edition reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.

Maximum comfort for everyday use

The standard equipment of the Ford Focus ST Edition includes many details that are already among the most popular additions to customers of the ST X model. The optional driver assistance package includes, among other things, a cruise control system adaptive cruise control with traffic sign recognition and lane pilot for easy and safe driving on highways.
