Electric version based on new platform

The Charger launches Stellantis’ massive multi-power STLA platform, and it’s a safe bet we’ll be sending it to Maserati, Chrysler, Jeep or even Alfa Romeo. It has the capacity to carry a large battery (from 85 kWh to 118 kWh), which will allow it to show exceptional autonomy and charge it at 400 or 800 V. Obviously, a large battery means an XXL weight and 2645 kg in standard.

The charger receives an NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) li-ion pack with a capacity of 100.5 kWh. Dodge promises to go from 20 to 80% in 30 minutes on a direct high-power terminal.

In terms of power, the Daytona Electric Charger will be offered in two versions:

  • The 670 hp Scat Pack version shows a torque of 850 Nm through two 335 hp engines (one in each axle).
  • The R/T version (like the Viper at the time) with 496 hp and 548 Nm of torque, still based on the 248 hp engine per axle.

To get such functionality, you will need to choose a kit called Connection Direct. Otherwise the Scat Pack version will increase to 590 hp and the R/T version to 456 hp.

The Scat Pack version will run from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 220 km/h. The R / T version will be satisfied with 4.7 seconds for 0 to 60 mph and a top speed of 216 km / h.

The level of freedom and despite the large battery and coupe line, you will have a stay of 418 kilometers on the Scat Pack version and 510 kilometers on the R / T version.

Like the Abarth 500e and the Hyundai Ioniq 5N, this Dodge Charger will produce a false oil noise through the Fratzonic system. The idea being to emulate a V8. It’s interesting when you know that the petrol version is running “only” with six cylinders and in-line at that time.

This new Dodge Charger will be available in coupe form with four doors.

A quick word about the hot version

In turn, the purist version of this Dodge Charger Six Pack has a 3-liter twin-turbo in-line six-cylinder engine, borrowed from Jeep, and produces 550 hp. We have no information on weight or performance.

Tasks to do things on the track

The new charger will be more flexible than its predecessors. Beyond the massive 305/35ZR20 XL front and 325/35ZR20 rear tires, and its six-piston Brembo brakes, there are snow, donut or Line Lock (gum burning) trails that should appeal to fans.

Modern interior

Purists may be disappointed because from now on the cockpit will be digital: two screens and a light strip are included, as well as Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The sound is based on the Alpine 914 W system.
