Stefan Bradl on Acosta: “The head is a great strength” / MotoGP

German Honda MotoGP test rider Stefan Bradl spoke in awe of the Pedro Acosta affair on “Sport & Talk from Hangar 7” on Monday.

Stefan Bradl has a lot to do at the moment. The Bavarian tested several Honda updates in Jerez de la Frontera last week for the upcoming Spanish Prix. On Monday, the 2011 Moto2 world champion was a guest at Hangar 7. There he also analyzed the MotoGP musician Pedro Acosta (19), from the Red Bull-GASGAS-Tech3 team, who is very interesting in every way.

Bradl said in surprise: “Putting it in plain English, he doesn’t care about anything. He also has a calm personality and does not allow himself to be driven crazy. Without a doubt, his talent is great, there is no need to talk about it. But it also seems that it is not bothering him in his head. It’s always easier said than done.”

Former MotoGP founder Bradl analyzes the young Spaniard in the race situation as follows: “Acosta does not care if Marc Márquez passes and he is there with the big stars. It is very impressive. He was already on the podium in Portugal – he was still happy then. Now he has proven again in Texas. He was also at the forefront of every training session.”

And Bradl also doesn’t beat around the bush: “He has won the KTM competition. That was a strong point of surprise. So far I have no idea that something could be driving him crazy in his head. And that is his biggest advantage at the moment.”

There’s also this: rookie Acosta is currently ranked in the World Cup standings. Bradl has the following to think about the current situation among the Pierer Group drivers: “I also have to pull myself together so I don’t start talking about the World Championship. But that’s generally the first thing to look at. Even if you’re a Honda driver you’re driving at the back, it’s important that you’re the fastest Honda driver in the field, and it’s the same with every manufacturer that you make sure you’re the best in your own stable.
