Chip Ganassi and Cadillac Racing will part ways at the end of the season

Soon the end of events between Chip Ganassi Racing and General Motors. While the American team has until now been Cadillac’s main partner in running the V-Series.R in the GTP and Hypercar categories of IMSA and WEC, the relationship between the two parties will end at the end of this year in 2024.

So the company from Detroit (Michigan) will have to turn to a new team to continue driving its prototypes in the two major Endurance championships in 2025. In IMSA, Action Express, the defending team and Caddy Number 31, it seems like an obvious choice to run two V-Series.Rs in the North American series. It remains to be seen who can take over in the WEC.

Yet according to RACER, three teams would be on General Motors’ radar for this: United Autosports, TF Sport and a third that has yet to be named. Choosing Tom Ferrier’s team would be a logical continuation as he already runs the General Motors Corvette Z06.R in the LMGT3 category of the FIA ​​​​WEC while competing in LM P2 in other championships. This new look could also be an opportunity for Cadillac to move to two full-time cars in the WEC in 2025.
