Sampdoria scored the first goal after a big mistake by Gianmarco Ferrari, and got the second as a gift from Martin Erlic. In this way, they drew 2: 2 with US Sassuolo to start the playoff round of Serie A.
The battle in Genoa began in earnest. Less than a quarter of an hour passed and three goals were scored. Sampdoria got the first as a gift from the experienced Gianmarco Ferrari. The defender wanted to pass the ball to Andrea Consigli but he hit it too gently and gave it to Manolo Gabbiadini for free. The Blucerchiati striker only had to beat the unprepared goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
Sampdoria did not enjoy the lead. After one minute it became 1:1, and after another two minutes it became 2:1 for Sassuolo. The hosts also made mistakes in defence, where they punished with close range shots by Domenico Berardi and Matheus Henrique. From the 14th minute, Neroverdi can show the opponents how to keep an eye on the results.
We had to wait until the second half of the game for more intense emotions. In the 66th minute, Andrea Pinamonti missed a great chance to increase the lead for Sassuolo, and his shot turned into a goal. In the 79th minute, Neroverdi made a mistake in their own penalty area, and Martin Erlić scored an own goal in ridiculous circumstances.
