Fraunhofer and Rolls-Royce are developing a new aircraft propulsion system


A new research project has begun under the leadership of Rolls-Royce Germany and in collaboration with several Fraunhofer institutes and the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus-Senftenberg. This is announced by the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing Technology (IWU).

This involves the development of an innovative system for operating medium-range aircraft with a capacity of carrying up to 35 passengers.

The project is financially supported by the state of Brandenburg and the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.
