The sixth generation Subaru Impreza (2023) is announced. Not only that many innovations were promised for the compact (hatchback), but also the return of the RS variant. Now the venereal disease of Subaru Impreza is also visible.
The sixth generation of the hatchback Subaru Impreza should arrive at US dealers in the spring of 2023, it probably won’t come to Europe until the end of 2023 or even early 2024. Even if no price has been published so far – neither for the US or Europe, by the way – it is. just because of the increase in the overall price it is assumed that it will be higher than the current generation. From January 2023, you can find the Japanese in Germany with a 1.6-liter engine from 25,990 euros. In the US, the new Japanese version will initially be available in three trims: Base, Sport and RS. The RS version was already available from 1998, but has since been replaced by the current WRX variant. But now the top model with the 2.5 liter boxer engine is making a comeback. Subaru announces that the Impreza in all trim levels has been given a ten percent stiffer chassis as well as a sportier look. In addition, the manufacturer’s standard four-wheel drive was modified with the aim of achieving shorter response times and better handling. While the base variant is geared towards the automatic, there are also paddle shifters for the Sport and RS versions. The interior of the Subaru Impreza (2023) now has an 11.6-inch screen and redesigned front seats. Also interesting: Tips for our products on Amazon
Toyota GR Supra MT (2022) in a driving report (video):
Price still unknown & Subaru Impreza (2023) engines
In the United States, the Subaru Impreza (2023) in the Base and Sport version gets a 2.0-liter boxer engine, while the flagship RS is allowed to burn at two and a half liters. Both four-cylinder versions do not require turbocharging. The smaller machine is rated at 150 hp (110 kW) and 197 Nm, while RS customers can expect 180 hp (133 kW) and 241 Nm. In addition to the more powerful powertrain, the RS has 18-inch wheels, black accents and LED headlights. There are other niceties in the interior, such as sport seats and carbon-look accents. Subaru also wants to have increased safety in all types of compact models (hatchback). For example, the manufacturer modified the EyeSight system, which should allow pedestrians and bicyclists crossing to be identified in advance. Accordingly, the car warns more reliably or even brakes automatically. As an option, the Subaru Impreza (2023) will also have the Automatic Emergency Steering system, which is designed to avoid collisions at low speeds with collision avoidance.
Subaru Impreza STI (2023) announces itself
The basic model is not yet available, but that does not prevent the brand from showing the Subaru Impreza STI at the Tokyo Motor Show on January 13-15, 2023. The acronym, which was almost inextricably linked with the WRX before, stands for Subaru Tecnica International and does not mean anything but Subaru’s automotive and accessories department. And he has picked up a new compact with sports accessories. Compared to the best RS hatch to date, we can see the front spoiler lip that grows significantly towards the fenders. In the same style, the Impreza in the tracksuit also has aprons on the flank and in the rear area. The spoiler of the black roof and the initials of sexually transmitted diseases emerge more boldly without restraint. This is in contrast to the two central pipes, which are more attractive than the exhaust systems of other ranges. The interior, on the other hand, refrains from too much sportiness and seems to match that of the RS. Unfortunately, this should also apply to the 180 hp (133 kW) 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. If, when and at what price the first version of the Subaru Impreza STI (2023) in Germany depends primarily on the market launch of the regular Impreza in this country. But the chances of that happening are good.
Unfortunately, we still have to be patient until the Subaru Impreza finds its way to Europe. The question is very exciting: Will the new 2.5-liter variant and the Subaru Impreza STI (2023) also enter the German market? They promise lots of driving fun.
