Ken Roczen is injured after all: His SX season is over / US Supercross

Contrary to initial observations, Suzuki rider Ken Roczen suffered several injuries during his departure from Nashville and will therefore be out for at least the rest of the Supercross season.

Ken Roczen set his sights on the top three in the 450cc US Supercross class and also showed good speed in Nashville last Saturday when he even passed championship leader Jett Lawrence (Honda) on a technically difficult track. However, because of the defect, the German flew aggressively;

The escaping fuel created a cloud of smoke, and Roczen could no longer find his place on the pedals – an accident with a violently flying bike was inevitable. Roczen was taken off the field in a medical car before there were no reports of a fracture. However, the former MX2 world champion has now been diagnosed with several injuries to his leg.

Surgery does not appear to be necessary, but healing will take time. Roczen explained in his previous statement about his condition: “After further review, it looks like I will probably be out for a while. It was discovered that I broke my tibia, as well as my leg and my toe. That’s all I know for now.”

Roczen continued: “Goodbye SX 2024 – it was great! Thanks to the fans and my partners, you made it so much fun and it’s always a pleasure to come to the race and have your support.”

So the father of two will spend his 30th birthday next Monday on sick leave. It remains to be seen when the man from Mattstedt will be able to get back in the saddle of his Suzuki. After the end of the SX series there will be a short break, the US outdoor motocross season will start at the end of May in Pala in California.
