In working on the model with the GSX-8S, Suzuki engineers focused on creating a two-wheeler with a moderate engine capacity that will appeal to both beginners and experienced motorcyclists. And it looks like it has achieved its goals thanks to a new twin-cylinder engine, a new frame and advanced electronic systems. The GSX-8S joins the GSX-S series as the smallest member of the family.
The Suzuki GSX-8S does not use fuel
The motorcycle is powered by a DOHC engine with four valves per cylinder, with a capacity of 776 cm3, which produces a lot of torque (78 Nm at 6,800 rpm) and 83 hp (measured at 8,500 rpm). Thanks to the smooth response of the throttle, the motorcycle is easy to control even by inexperienced riders. The pistons working in cylinders with a diameter of 84 mm have a long stroke and are forged. The shaft has 270 ° cranks, which ensures high torque even at low rpm. The “side effect” of the solution is pleasing to the ear gang similar to that known from the V-twin 90 °. In turn, between continuous ignition, the shaft rotates 450 degrees, which will be appreciated by drivers when leaving corners or driving on roads with little grip. The new injection GSX-8S uses 10-point high-pressure injectors to increase fuel atomization for better combustion efficiency and lower fuel consumption. The engine is equipped with the well-known Suzuki Cross Balancer, a unique patent that balances the operation of the engine and reduces vibrations.
Agile and stable
The design of the air filter housing and inlets has been optimized based on CAE analysis to increase power delivery and low rpm torque production. The air box is compact and placed under the seat, which allowed the creation of a motorcycle in which the rider enjoys maximum freedom of movement. When creating the GSX-8S, one of the most important tasks faced by Suzuki engineers was to create a frame that allows good maneuverability, provides ride comfort and a lot of everyday use. Every aspect of its shape has been thought out to ensure the bike’s perfect grip, also with optional soft side forces (whether you’re riding alone or with a passenger). So the frame is strong and stable, while keeping its edge weight balanced. low level. The braking efficiency is also high. The four-piston front brake calipers are radially mounted. The GSX-8S has two “floating” discs with a diameter of 310 mm. At the rear, there is a single 240 mm disc with a single piston caliper. Chassis geometry and riding position The GSX-8S has a longer wheelbase than conventional naked bikes, giving it better stability at high speeds.
The price did not hit your feet
It should emphasize the attractive, aggressive silhouette of Suzuki GSX-8S, thin lines and compact dimensions. This is a bike for everyone, regardless of experience. The geometry of the chassis provides agile cornering, and the bike is compact and comfortable. The position behind the wheel allows a better distribution of the weight of the driver’s body, and passengers do not have to kneel too much, which is important for long trips. The use of an inline engine had a positive effect on the geometry of the whole car, and the size of the car unit allowed the driver to move forward, which gives him better control in sharp corners. The front and rear suspensions have been improved. The 130mm downward-sloping front fork provides a smooth, fully controlled ride and has strong damping characteristics. It will work well in sports, city trips and tourism.
There is also the ability to adjust the spring loading of the rear shock, which is very useful when riding with two people. The GSX-8S is fitted with a new aluminum swingarm in a shape designed specifically for this model. It provides sufficient vertical, lateral and torsional stiffness, ensuring stability and high driving comfort. New 17-inch aluminum wheels add style and clearly contribute to improved agility. The motorcycle is equipped with new generation Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tires (120/70ZR17 front and 180/55ZR17 rear) which ensure good grip.
