For Sebastian Vettel, the current season continues in formula 1 not according to plan at all. Instead of a victory and a platform, the 34-year-old runs his Aston Martin in the lower midfield.

That should eventually change now. For the next race on formula 1 Aston Martin probably wants to launch a completely redesigned car.

System 1: A major update in Aston Martin – will it eventually change course?

“It feels like a victory for us,” Sebastian Vettel said after winning the first mark at Imola. In doing so, he stressed where Aston Martin is at the moment. A team cannot meet its own needs.

Now change should be achieved as soon as possible. And how should that work? And a big update on the car.

This is Sebastian Vettel:

  • He was born on July 3, 1987 in Heppenheim.
  • Vettel’s home kart song was Erftlandring. Michael Schumacher had previously conducted his first driving experiment in a motor sport there.
  • In 2007, Vettel successfully entered System 1, where he competed against BMW Sauber and Toro Rosso.
  • In 2009 he moved to Red Bull. There he celebrated four consecutive world championships from 2010 to 2013.
  • In 2015 Vettel replaced the Ferrari. With Scuderia, however, he was denied a major hit.
  • He has been driving to Aston Martin (formerly Racing Point) since 2021.

“Aston Martin wants to bring in a new car. Everyone will see that, you don’t have to look in the magnifying glass,” reveals Formula 1 classmate Michael Schmidt from “Auto Motor und Sport” in his YouTube format “Formel Schmidt”.

According to his report, a number of things will change drastically: “I think they will be very thin at the back. They put wide side boxes in front. Maybe it will be a copy of Ferrari, we’ll see,” says Schmidt.

System 1: Is Sebastian Vettel looking at the pipe first?

For the first time, a new car will be launched at the Spanish GP (May 22) in Barcelona. It is doubtful whether both vehicles will receive a major update.

“As it is now, there are problems with the delivery of equipment and parts around the world. Sometimes only one car is complete, then you have to see who gets it. I would think the owner’s child (Lance Stroll, editor’s note)” is a local insider F1 Michael Schmidt.

That certainly won’t be good for Vettel, but the most important thing for the 34-year-old is that the car eventually becomes competitive. (fs)
