The new version of Tesla Full Self-Driving shows very dangerous driving behavior

Many Tesla fans are confident that Full Self-Driving as an autonomous driving system will become a legal reality in the near future. After all, Elon Musk made big promises in the past. However, based on the images of the latest test version, the future still seems far off.

On the number of Tesla Model Inheritanceexamples, beta versions of Tesla’s Fully Self-Driving system are being tested. Although there were also positive words about the performance of the latest version, the test – probably with version V12.3.4 – did not go well for one of the users.

Tesla’s risky driving behavior to test Full Self-Driving

He shared a video of his experience on Reddit. It shows how fast the Tesla is driving on the country road in this situation. Tesla drives at a speed of 69 km / h, where the same speed is 56 km / h.

Well, maybe we all do that sometimes. It becomes even more dangerous when Tesla completely ignores a stop sign. It is not clear if the cameras did not detect the road sign, or if the system simply considered the sign irrelevant.

Full Self-Driving is not (yet) intended for autonomous driving

Full System Error Self-Drive. Tesla explains on its website that Full Self-Driving has traffic lights and stop sign recognition, although it’s a beta version. The system “recognizes stop signs and traffic lights and slows down and stops when a vehicle approaches, with your active supervision.”

The latter is important, because although the name suggests otherwise, Full Self-Driving is not intended to drive with complete autonomy. “It is intended to be used by a fully focused driver, who has his hands on the wheel and is ready to intervene at any moment,” Tesla’s website reads. The user in the video therefore had to take action himself.

Will Tesla’s Full Self-Driving also come to the Netherlands?

At the beginning of last month, a bill about what is known Driver Control Assistance Systems adopted by it World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations. This should provide clarity for manufacturers and remove the confusion of conflicting rules on advanced driver assistance systems.

Will Elon Musk pull off a cheaper Model 2? This is Tesla’s plan

However, don’t expect that we will be able to test the Complete Customization System in the same way here, that’s how he writes AutoEvolution. With this new approval, maneuvers initiated by the traffic system are still not allowed, which means that Tesla’s Fully Supervised Self-Driving technology cannot yet be approved in Europe and other UNECE countries.
