Tesla will lay off workers. Elon Musk explains


On Tuesday, Elon Musk said Tesla will cut its workforce by 10 percent over the next three months while increasing the number of hourly workers. As he explained, this means that the layoffs will affect about 3.5 percent. Tesla’s general staff, reports CNBC.

On Sunday, two former Tesla employees filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that it violated federal layoff laws that require employers to give 60 days’ notice of collective layoffs or plant shutdowns.

“It’s a small case with small consequences,” Musk said, as quoted by CNBC. “Everything about Tesla makes headlines, whether it’s a bike accident or something worse,” added the Tesla CEO.
