The current Jeep Cherokee was released in late 2013 and has received several updates and upgrades over the years. Cherokee has seen success, but interest is waning and the model faces an uncertain future.

For the 2023 model year, the Jeep Cherokee is dropping five (of seven) versions for 2022. Additionally, the 3.2-liter V6 engine will no longer be available. As such, only the Altitude 4×4 and Trailhawk 4×4 models will make up the full Cherokee lineup.

The base 2023 Cherokee Altitude Edition will have a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine developing 180 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque. All models come standard with the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction control system, which offers up to five special modes for all conditions (Auto, Snow, Sport, Sand/Mud; the Trailhawk model is equipped with Rock ), a nine-speed automatic. transmission and the first cutting system of the rear axle. The Trailhawk will have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces an amazing 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
