The 20th regional competition “My Landscape Design” has been decided

On Wednesday, October 26, the 20th edition of the Regional Painting and Photo Contest “My Landscape Design” was decided. The competition is organized by the County Office in Częstochowa, the Municipal Cultural Center in Poczesna and the Catholic Vocational School of their SPSK. St. Józef in Częstochowa.

The competition involved primary and secondary school students from all over the voivodeship. Participants were asked to draw or photograph architectural objects from their immediate surroundings. The painting competition was divided into four age groups: grades 0-3, 4-6, 7-8 and secondary schools. All students, regardless of age, can participate in the photography category. The background of the competition is discussed by Iwona Skorupa, director of the Municipal Cultural Center in Poczesna:

177 works were submitted for the competition, of which the jury awarded the best 25. One of the winners is Katarzyna Karpowicz, a student of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Częstochowa, whose work depicting the glass bridge in Korwinów took first place in the painting category for secondary schools. As he insists, in his work he freely draws inspiration from the nature around him:

The competition was held under the honorary patronage of Krzysztof Ujma, head of the Poczesna Community, who is always ready to support initiatives that enable young people to develop their interests. As he himself emphasizes, all adults have a responsibility to develop and polish the talents of young people. He also adds that the local government – in this case the Community of Poczesna – is an entity that, apart from legal obligations, should also support parents and educators in the process of finding and supporting young talents:

The judges of the competition were Ewa Powroźnik, president of the Częstochowa Artists Association. Jerzy Duda Gracia and Mirosława Truchta-Nowicka, an artist specializing in creating paper sculptures. The competition was held under the sponsorship of Radio Fiat media and portal czestochowskie24.pl.
