With the help of a woman who witnessed the crime, the police officers of Milicz stopped another drunk driver who, ignoring many appeals and warnings, drove a passenger car under the influence of alcohol and without a driver’s license. The arrested driver had more than 2.8 per mille of alcohol in his body! For his irresponsible behavior on the road, the man is now facing severe legal consequences.

On Monday, June 5, a few minutes after eight o’clock in the afternoon, police officers were called to Wszewilki, where, according to the report, a driver who had probably drunk alcohol should have arrived in the parking lot of a grocery store. Immediately, the police found a woman who pointed to a parked Mazda car – according to the witness, a drunk driver had arrived at this car a short time earlier. Officers at the scene of the intervention determined that the Mazda was driven by a 36-year-old resident of the Cieszków district.

The suspicions of the witness turned out to be very correct, because as it turned out, the driver of the Mazda was under the influence of alcohol – the blood pressure test showed in his body more than 2.8 per mille! In addition, the police determined that the man did not have a driving license. The prisoner could no longer continue to drive the car, so the uniformed soldiers handed over the car to the person shown by him.

The case is pending – the trial will end in Milicz’s court, where the man will have legal consequences for driving a passenger car while drunk and without the required licenses. We would like to remind you that driving while drunk is punishable by up to 2 years in prison. In addition, the court orders a mandatory ban on driving a car or vehicle of any kind for a period of at least 3 years and orders cash benefits.

Victim Support Fund and post-prison support in the amount of at least PLN 5,000. Cash benefit can be ordered by the court up to PLN 60,000.

Thanks to the woman who witnessed the incident, for the information provided, thanks to another drunk driver who was removed from the road. Again, we call on all drivers not to get behind the wheel of a car after drinking even a small amount of alcohol, and we ask witnesses of such behavior to react – to alert the service. Let’s remember that a responsible road user does not forget about prudence and caution on the road!
