Citroen Xantia – what was written about it at the end of its production period? “Precise, responsive, comfortable”

Facing stiff competition in the mid-size class from the well-equipped Renault Laguna and Ford Mondeo, the Citroën Xantia still boasts plenty of power. First of all, and no less important, is the compromise between handling and holding the road, which allows Xantia to show the new generation how to drive!

There’s plenty of room in the front and back, and the boot is easily accessible thanks to the lift-up tailgate, meaning you can take plenty of luggage with you. But. Although the Xantia’s appearance is starting to show signs of age, the high quality of workmanship and excellent upholstery still please.

Citroën Xantia, despite its great age, still offers royal comfort and spaciousness. The 1.8i 16V engine with a power of 112 HP has been slightly modified to meet the requirements of the new standards. It is more responsive and faster than before. In terms of fuel consumption, it has dropped, with an average of 8.6 liters per 100 kilometers, compared to 9.1 before. In the Tendance Xantia 1.8i 16V version, it does not forget about what is most important, in terms of comfort and safety. It has four airbags, automatic air conditioning, ABS and remote controlled central locking. Interestingly, only the mirror on the right door is electrically adjustable. Financially, the Xantia 1.S 16V is very attractive, even if the competition in the segment is fierce.
