When he saw the police, he was shocked: A 39-year-old man ran through Weißenfels near Leipzig on Thursday evening around 7:30 pm and hit six cars. This was announced by the police in the district of Burgenland t-online by request.

A 27-year-old woman was in the passenger seat, a police spokesman said. All the occupants of the car had consumed alcohol and other drugs, at least the appropriate tests were found, it said. The man was carrying an illegal knife.

In addition, fake license plates were attached to the silver BMW. Police reported that the driver of the car sped up when he saw a police car parked on the side of the road. So the officers began to follow.

The starting point was Beutizstrasse in Weißenfels. The race went over two kilometers at high speed through the narrow streets of the small town. The BMW eventually turned onto Dammstrasse and hit a parked car with full force.

The accident pushed four other cars along with damaging the wall of the house. Photos from the scene of the accident show dazed passers-by surveying the scene.

It will be an expensive tour for the driver: in the end there are six damaged cars, three with a total loss. The police estimate the amount of damage at least 60,000 euros. In addition, the man is awaiting trial for violating the Firearms Act because of a prohibited knife.
