I run a GMC Terrain Denali which I want to replace with an electric all-wheel drive, with a budget of $50,000.
My dealer gives it to me Bolt Premium about that price, but I heard you say GM is discontinuing it. What do you suggest I do?

Hi Pierre,
Indeed, Chevrolet will soon stop making the Bolt EV/EUV to replace itEquinox EV. If your dealer can currently give you a Bolt, first you know you’re in luck. Several buyers are eagerly waiting for theirs, as the demand is very high for this model. So this might be a good option for you, even though it is not an all-wheel drive.
Soon, Chevrolet will launch the Equinox EV which will have all-wheel drive. For your budget, you will be able to get this model with very complete equipment, and in a design close to that of your car. Be aware, however, that the waiting time can be very long for this model.
Isn’t it a better option then to “temporarily” choose the Bolt EUV Premium we’re giving you, which will drop by a very small amount, then be replaced by the Equinox EV, when will this happen? In my opinion, this can be a fun solution as long as you keep the Bolt EUV for at least a year. Otherwise, you will have to pay the applicable state credit, which totals $12,000, plus taxes. The credit will be given back to you when you own your 2024 or 2025 Equinox, as long as the government maintains it.
Otherwise, it’s currently hard to get your hands on an electric car and all-wheel drive in this price range, and within a reasonable timeframe. L’IONIQ 5 of Hyundai, theEV6 of Kia orID. 4 from Volkswagen may also be possible, but the delivery times are inconvenient. And I don’t recommend the Subaru Solterra/Toyota bZ4X, cars whose technology is not very convincing.
