The BMW XM appears in INPI records and should come to Brazil in 2023
BMW registered industrial designs for XM at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), the top SUV of the brand’s sports division, the BMW M.
It is worth remembering that the registration of industrial designs or car patents does not guarantee that the models will be launched in the country. This is a common practice of car manufacturers who do registration as a way to protect intellectual property rights related to products.

However, in the case of the BMW XM, the car should be launched in the Brazilian market at the end of the year. The new SUV was presented worldwide in September last year, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the automaker’s sports division.
In December, the manufacturer confirmed the first of XM and 14 other models in South America in 2023. This week, the company announced the launch of new generation BMW X1.
Production of the BMW XM began in December at the brand’s plant in Spartanburg, in the United States, to supply the North American market. This year, it will be launched in Europe and in other markets, such as Latin America.

The BMW XM is the second car to be exclusively developed and developed by BMW M. According to the brand, it is the first hybrid of the category and the most powerful BMW M ever created.
In terms of design, the car has striking lines at the front, which follows the look used on the brand’s recent launches, such as the BMW i7 and X7. At the rear, a double vertical exhaust tip, integrated into the bumper, adds to the car’s performance.
The wheels can be up to 23 inches and have a unique look. Inside, the XM is packed with carbon fiber trim.
Among the equipment available on the model, show the BMW Live Cockpit Professional panel, which started on the BMW iX, and includes two large screens, which perform the instrument panel and multimedia functions.

There’s also a head-up display, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system and a number of driving aids, such as cruise control and automatic parking assistant.
The BMW XM stands out for its plug-in hybrid powertrain. The SUV has a V8 TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine, with 585 hp and 76.4 kgfm of torque, which, together with the electric motor, results in a total power of up to 748 hp and a torque of 101.9 kgfm.
The M Steptronic automatic transmission has eight gears and all power is distributed between the four wheels and the xDrive traction system. The SUV has sports modes, off-road and even electric modes.
Configured to run on battery power only, the XM can travel up to 88 km and reach a top speed of 140 km/h. Like the BMW M, the XM has an excellent axle load distribution in the ratio of 50:50 and variable sports brand suspension technology.
