BYD has an ambitious expansion plan within the European automotive market. A Chinese brand that also participated in the Paris Motor Show 2022. Besides the Tang, Hang and ATTO 3 models that we have already had the opportunity to test, the automaker has brought BYD Seal sedan which will be released in Europe in 2023. There is no exact date yet, but Pere Brugal, BYD’s sales manager in Europe, emphasized that sales of this model will start next year in European markets where BYD is present.

Unfortunately, no price guide has been released for the European market. We remind you that, at the moment, BYD is not yet available in Italy. Our country should be included in the next stage of expansion in Europe. So we will talk about it again in 2023.

For credit, BYD seal looks like a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3. The electric sedan is already available on the Chinese market. Its dimensions are impressive. Based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 platform, the car measures 4,800mm long x 1,875mm wide x 1,460mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,920mm.

In the Chinese market, this model It is recommended in different versions. Access has one electric motor of 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque and rear wheel drive (0-100 km / h in 7.5 seconds). All powered by a 61.4 kWh battery that allows a range of up to 550 km but based on the CLTC cycle.

However, at the top of the range, the BYD Seal offers a 390 kW electric motor with 670 Nm of torque (0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds). Thanks to the 82.5 kWh battery, it is possible to have a range of up to 650 km (CLTC). For the first time on the Old Continent, it will be interesting to know what offers will be offered to European customers. We remind you that BYD uses its Blade batteries which are of the LFP type. In China, the Stamp starts at 222,274 Yuan, equivalent to about 31,300 euros.
