The construction of two Lada type submarines has started

On February 14, the Admirałtiejskije Wierfi shipyard in St.

The contract for the construction of these units was signed a long time ago, in June 2019, during the Armija 2019 exhibition in Moscow. The ships, which are the fourth and fifth units of the series, should join the Northern Fleet by 2027.

Currently, there is only one ship of this type in service, i.e. model B-585 Sankt-Pietierburg, which only finished its test operation after 10 years and became a combat unit. The first B-586 Kronstadt has recently completed the first stage of sea trials. It should also be noted that we are talking about a ship whose keel was laid on July 28, 2005. However, already in 2009, by the decision of the Ministry of Defense, it was stopped, which was caused by serious problems and pressure. system and other on-board systems of the model ship.

Fortunately for the shipyard, already in July 2012, the then commander of the Russian fleet, Adm. Viktor Cherkov decided to restart their production according to the changed design, which was ready a year later. As a result, on July 9, 2013, it was possible to sign a contract between the Ministry of Defense and the Admirałtiejskije Wierfi shipyard for the completion of the ship according to the revised project 677, which allowed the resumption of its construction. . In July 2017, the construction of its vessel was completed, and it was launched on September 20, 2018. The information about the start of trials to create the ship was announced by the press services of the shipping company on June 28, 2019.

However, sea trials planned for the same year did not take place. We had to wait more than three years for this, which means that the design of these ships was not yet developed and required many modifications. Finally, Kronstadt was put to sea for the first time on December 17, 2021. Sea trials were conducted in the waters of the Gulf of Finland. It included checking the maneuver and heel as well as the speed of the ship. The location of water, communication and navigation systems as well as periscopes and other lifting devices were tested.

Among other ship project 677, the second unit of serial B-587 Wielikije Łuki is being built, the keel of which was laid under the current name on March 19, 2015 (construction started according to the original design and under the name Siewastopol took place on November 10, 2006). Part of this ship is built and ready to launch. According to current announcements, with high hopes, he will enter the service this year.

On August 25, 2020, also during the Armija exhibition, a contract was signed for the construction of another ship of project 677, which will be the sixth unit in the series. Currently, there is no information about the start date of its construction or when it has a chance to enter service.
