Chinese car maker Chery wants to start in Germany
Chinese car company Chery is coming to Europe next year with its two brands Omoda and Jaecoo. A typical dealer network should pick up sales. Chery Europe CEO Jochen Tüting also wants to start local production in the medium term.
Chinese car manufacturer Chery is about to launch its European market. After the test markets of Spain and Italy, Chery also wants to present the first cars of the two brands Omoda and Jaecoo in Germany from the second quarter of 2024 – through the network of regular dealers. Jochen Tüting, Managing Director of Chery Europe, announced this in an interview with “kfz-betrieb”. Other markets are to follow. Chery also wants to add the first electric product to the Exlantix.

Chery wants to take over sales itself in the most important European markets and is currently setting up corresponding subsidiaries. In Germany, Tüting initially expects a dealer network consisting of 80 to 120 sales points and selling both brands under one roof. “We want to communicate quickly with the customer and someone they trust,” says the managing director.
