WEC Imola | The first hour of the race

The first hour of the Imola race has passed. A lot of emotions at first and then a race that slowed down until the first round of pit stops. Ferrari firmly in the lead did well. Lamborghini’s SC63 attacks and gains space. Rossi’s car and the 296 GT3 #55 performed well in LMGT3. Trouble for the Iron Dames.

Hypercar, Ferrari rules. Lamborghini Attack

At the start the three red cars in front of everyone got off to a good start and took the top three positions, with the #50 leading from the first corner, while Giovinazzi number 51 managed to get second place, overtaking Kubica and #83.

Safety Car immediately on track due to contact at Tamburello between Alpine, Peugeot and BMW. When restarting the positions do not change on the rank, but it is there Lamborghini SC63 in the hands of Mirko Bortolotti who won the #99 Proton Racing Porsche 963, moving up to eleventh place.

The first pit waltz at the end of the first hour of the race. Lamborghini SC63 will stop with two Ferrari 499P #50 to #83, while #51 continues its race while Giovinazzi finds himself the leader of the race. After the pit Robert Kubica managed to get back in front of the Ferrari driven by Nielsen, thanks to a different strategy.

BMW #15 did well with the Dallara chassis coming back to fight for seventh place. However, BMW M Hybrid V8 #20 retires after contact at the start of the race. Bad for Cadillac as it can’t seem to find any rhythm on the Imola track.

LMGT3, BMW #46 fighting for the podium. Trouble for the Iron Dames

In LMGT3 it beats well BMW M4 #46 which moves up to second place behind the #92 Porsche, while the Iron Dames #85 Lamborghini dropped to eighth. Ferrari Vista AF Corse #55 did well, moving up to fourth place.

After the Safety Car, Deborah Mayer’s girls face a terrible blow; after leaving Tosa the magenta car seems to have a serious technical problem Sarah Bovy returning to the pitsto confirm the extent of the problem.

It’s just past the half hour mark Ferrari 296 GT3 #54 driven by Thomas Flohr stands on gravel, probably due to a problem; he tries to leave again, but he can’t get out of the escape route.

The Iron Dames return to the race, after almost an hour in the garage and 18 laps behind. BMW #46 returns to the pits for the first stop at 6 o’clock, opening the drum of stops. The #55 Ferrari of Vista AF Corse also stopped, while its sister car, the #54, returned to the track after suffering a problem minutes earlier.

Lamborghini Iron Lynx #60, which started last, finds itself behind.
