The Fisker Ocean Roadster California borrows tricks from the Honda CRX

If you had asked Baba Vanga a few years ago where innovation would be in the automotive industry, he probably would not have said that the rear window was the night of great change. With Polestar the rear window disappears completely and with the reborn car brand Fisker you can make the rear window disappear on command.

The first copies of the new Fisker Ocean have been in the Netherlands since the end of last year. For 47,120 euros you can buy an entry-level car with a range of 464 kilometers and for 68,710 euros you will get the fastest one with a range of 707 kilometers. Nice numbers, but the most interesting thing about the new Ocean is something Fisker calls ‘California Mode’. You can see the situation in the video at the bottom of the page.

Even the rear window is electric in the Fisker Ocean

When you turn on California Mode, all windows except the windshield will be lowered. Yes, even the window behind the rear doors collapses. Even the back door window disappears. The sliding rear window is something we used to see in the Honda CRX Del Sol, BMW 6-series Convertible and many American station wagons of the 60s and 70s.

The main advantage of lowering the rear window is that it does not enter the car when you open the window. The goal is of course to enjoy the nice breeze in the warm countries. The disadvantage is that all free receipts are lost immediately. Even if you buy long planks at the hardware store, you can slide them behind the car and let them grow a little.
