The Ford Escort Mk3 turns out to be a great sleeper due to the RX-8 Wankel

(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Ford Escort remains one of the most successful brands in the history of the automotive manufacturer. After a long and successful period, the group decided to remove the name on behalf of Focus, which was launched in 1999 and is expected to be discontinued in 2025.

Out of the ordinary, Escort has a long and glorious history behind it. The first generation came on the market in 1968. But here and now it is about them third generation from 1980, the local name “Erika” and developed at a cost of billions.

Of course, this escort was already released in various versions of the hottest old works, such as XR3 or XR3i. But even the strongest of them did not come close to match the performance standard of this black model. And that is due to the fact that not a single Escort had the function of the old rotary piston engine.

Probably the only Escort with the Mazda Wankel engine

Our illuminated car began life as a 1980s black Escort with a 1.3-liter petrol engine.

After a long and possibly costly recovery that included a complete engine replacement, it could now be the only Escort in the world powered by the Mazda RX-8 Wankel. Sure, the engine seems to be completely natural, but the materials and finishes are of a global standard.

From the outside, this escort looks normal. The painting is pure and is just a slightly reduced landing gear that can give an impression of what is under the skin. There we find around that rotating engine also a complete castle, adjustment suspension, new exhaust system, new operation and many other modified or new features.

Ford Focus now and in the future:

Official: production of the Ford Focus will be completed by 2025

Of course, this wild escort animal is driven by its rear wheels. Inside there is a large tunnel that lays into the shaft, and nothing is visible behind the front seats – it is a tubular construction that makes the car more stable and predictable at corners.

Even the original pillar of the RX-8 tool is well integrated into the original Escort dashboard – everything is designed to perfection and state-of-the-art.
