The 2024 Buick Envision debuts with a family-style, large-screen interior

Buick showed us the 2024 Reflection in a photo nearly a year ago, and while the wait has been long, we now have all the details about this crossover’s extensive upgrades. And yes, even though we are already deep into 2024, this refresher is for the year 2024 of Thinking.

The big changes on the outside are very noticeable at first glance when you see the front end of the Wildcat EV which is distributed in Buick’s SUV lineup. The Envision looks the same as before from behind, although Buick notes that it uses a new badge on the rear fascia. Additionally, new 20-inch wheels are standard on both the ST and Avenir trims, while the base Preferred trim fits 18s.

Its entire powertrain is carryover, which means the only engine option is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that sends 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque through a nine-speed automatic transmission. One difference for the 2024, though, is that all-wheel drive is made standard, eliminating the cheaper FWD versions.

Buick’s biggest changes are inside the 2024 Envision. It has a standard 30-inch display that extends across the dash that includes the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. This also means that it has a new center shelf and center console design that better suits this large display. Most of the climate control buttons are removed from the center stack, but other important, frequently used switches remain for easy use. The button-operated “shifter” setting on the center console is gone, too, replaced by a GM series shifter slowly making its way across the General Motors lineup. In its place is a large, shiny knife with extra storage capacity.

As for luxury and style, the Envision adds new red/black and grey/blue color combinations, and the front seats themselves are new and more comfortable than ever. Soft lighting is added to the cabin, and Buick says it has added quality trim to the center console. If you choose the ST, you get a flat-bottom steering wheel for a sportier look, too.

More driver assistance features are being made standard for the 2024, though Super Cruise isn’t one of them despite previously being touted as one of the new tech items coming to the Envision this year. When asked about its absence, a Buick spokesperson told us: “The 24MY Envision will no longer debut with Super Cruise, but we plan to bring it to Buick vehicles soon. As schedules have changed, so has our launch of new Super Cruise-equipped vehicles, but we are committed to bringing the technology to Buick vehicles in the future.

Pricing has also come up for the updated Edition, with the entry-level Preferred starting at $37,295. The ST (pictured in red) starts at $37,795, and the top-shelf Avenir (in silver) $48,395. Buick says the refreshed Envision will hit dealerships this summer.
