The Honda Prelude is the Japanese brand’s new electric SUV, but it won’t be manufactured by it. It is the first car created in collaboration with the General Motors company, which will be responsible for producing it in one of its factories in the United States.
The Prologue is based on the widely used Ultium architecture, but is a sibling of the Chevrolet Blazer EV, albeit with its own design. At the front, you can see a trapeze-shaped grille under the bumper, LED headlights and a flat hood. Its style is independent even from other Hondas.

In profile, there is little detail on the bodywork, clean and with few curves. There are 19-inch wheels and 21-inch wheels are optional, while the rear has a black controller that connects the lights: this is where “Honda” is written in full.

Honda put a lot of effort into the cabin to hide the nature of the project. Starting with the base version, the Honda Prologue will have an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and another 11.3-inch infotainment center. In terms of multimedia, Google will already be integrated from the factory and provide easy access to Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store.

There is also a center console with cup holders, induction charger, heated and electric front seats, dual-zone air conditioning, 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and accessories. In the top-of-the-line version, the interior of the best finish can be found, with a heated leather steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and head-up displays.

Since the shape was already partially revealed, the main news was the engine and the price. The Honda electric car’s engine is inferior compared to the Chevrolet Blazer EV, which is built on the same platform.

Currently, the most powerful version announced has two electric motors to ensure all-wheel drive with a total of 288 hp and 45.9 kgfm of torque. There is also another front-wheel drive version that should have the same power level, but no data is to be reported.

The highest version of the Chevrolet Blazer, however, has 564 hp and 89.58 kgfm of torque, from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 4 s, over the Prelude.
The range of the Honda electric car is around 483 km for the front-wheel drive version. For the top-of-the-line version, the exact number has not yet been released. However, if it is equipped with the same 85 kWh LFP battery, the autonomy will be short.

Well, Honda did not “reveal” values, but said that the electric SUV will cost between US $ 45,000 and US $ 50,000, something like R $ 230,000 and R $ 255,000, respectively.
When buying a car, buyers will be able to choose one of three charging devices provided by Honda, which are already included in the price of the car. The first is a credit of R$4,000 for charging in public places only, the second is a 7.6 kW portable charger with a credit of R$1,500 for charging in public places and the third is a 1 kW home charging station 11.0. 5 kW plus public charging credit of R$500.
