Next Saturday, February 11, the La Grosse Ride Nokian rally will take place, a simple navigation test that anyone interested in winter driving can take part in. Presented for several years in the Laurentians, the 2023 edition will be held in honor of Réjean Pilon, the founder of Lachute Subaru, who died two years ago. The more than 300 km test will be launched at 18:30 pm, at Lachute Performance in Brownsburg.
“The world of Quebec protests could not pay tribute to Réjean Pilon, an unconditional friend of the conference as a participant and sponsor,” declared Jean-Sébastien Besner and Michel Poirier-Defoy, organizers of this event. “The time will be right to highlight his involvement and honor him by presenting a plaque to his family,” they added.
“Our family is proud of the honor we want to give to my father” emphasizes Julien Pilon, head of Lachute Performance, a company well known to fans of the brand, but which also has an international influence. “We are very touched to host Big Ride Nokian this year,” he said.
Grosse Ride Nokian 2023 will take place at legal speed on the road between Lachute and Mont-Tremblant, offering very easy navigation. A set of Nokian tires, prizes and scholarships up to $1000 will be up for grabs among all participating crews. Snacks are also provided at the registration, at the end of the rally in Ste-Agathe-des-Monts. Finally, training for beginners will be given before the start of this rally, which is approved by Rallye Sport Québec.
