The range is expanding for the 2024 GMC Sierra EV | Car news

As Earth Day approaches, it’s an electric week at Auto123 as our news covers what’s happening and what’s happening in this world.

General Motors (GM) is preparing to launch two electric trucks. We’ll have the opportunity to drive the first car next month, the Chevrolet Silverado EV. Shortly after, GMC will officially launch its Sierra EV.

Today, ahead of its planned arrival this summer, GM’s truck division shared updates on pricing and model lineup.

As for the range, it is now estimated at 440 miles, or 708 kilometers. This is a 10% increase compared to the first figures revealed which showed a range of 400 miles, or 644 kilometers.

Other interesting details announced in this update include an increase in maximum towing capacity, reaching 10,000 pounds. Payload has also been increased to 1,450 pounds. These are the respective profits of £500 and £150.

No owner will complain about it.

The good news is that GMC also announced a price drop for the first model to be launched, the Denali 1 Edition. The final version is $99,495, US$9,200 less than the previous version.

We’ll have to see what the Canadian prices are.

And not that all. GMC also confirmed a new feature for its pickup truck, namely rear-biased wheels that will allow the model to offer a “crab walk”, this functionality introduced by the Hummer EV. At low speeds, the angle of the rear wheels can match the front to allow the car to travel diagonally.
