The new T-Class is 4,498 mm long, 1,859 mm wide and 1,811 mm tall. The final dimension is 30-40 cm larger than passenger cars of the same length. But not only the large space above the heads of passengers ensures the comfort of travel. The T-Class has wide-opening (right-angled) front doors with sliding doors on both sides for easy entry and exit. The opening after the side door is fully extended has dimensions of 614 and 1059 mm – it is large enough that even tall and fluffy people will not have problems taking up space. Loading packages or suitcases in the trunk is also easy – the loading threshold is low, at a height of 56 cm. The tailgate is raised, but a bi-fold door will also be available as an option.
The couch can be folded, which provides an almost flat floor of the cargo compartment. The roof rack can also be used for weekend trips or vacations – the rails are standard equipment, they also have an interesting patent – the beams coming out of the rails. All you need to do is open the lock, turn the bars 90 degrees, attach and you can install a bike rack or box on the roof.
Mercedes T-class – premium equipment
The T-class is a premium segment, so the equipment is also suitable. Standard equipment specifications already include: MBUX infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen and smartphone connectivity, multi-function steering wheel with Touch Control buttons, climate control, KEYLESS Start, color display 5.5 inch and instrument cluster, height adjustable driver’s seat. Of course, there is also the voice assistant “Hey Mercedes” that allows you to communicate with the car, select functions by voice or use the Internet. With LED interior lights and, depending on equipment specifications, ambient interior lighting in up to eight colors.
The standard version of the T-Class also includes: Hill Start Assist, Crosswind Assist, Fatigue Warning System, Active Brake Assist with intersection function, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Speed Limit Assist. The Driving Assistance Package is available as an option and also includes DISTRONIC Remote Control. Also available (optional) is Active Parking Assist with reversing camera and Trailer Stability Assist.
In the T-class, seven airbags are installed as standard. In the event of a severe side impact, the central airbag will be placed between the driver and the front passenger, reducing the risk of a collision.
Mercedes T-class – two engines, four power variants
There are two engines in the T-class: one petrol and one diesel – each with two power levels. The 1,332 cc petrol engine develops 102 (T160) or 131 hp (T 180), and the 1,461 cc diesel engine produces 95 (T 160 d) or 116 hp (T 180 d).
As usual, the cars will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The diesel versions and the more powerful 131 hp petrol version will also be optionally available with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
