The new Toyota Tacoma joins the game. It will attract customers in four ways

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Tacoma’s presence on the American market. This is a good opportunity to show the new model, which will be available for the first time in hybrid and in the new version of Trailhunter.

In the past several months, Americans have received many new images. Nissan updated the Frontier, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and Ford Ranger. Now we have met another strong player, which is the new Tacoma.

In terms of style, the car is an evolution of its predecessor, but that’s good. Aggressive shapes can be loved. The large front grill with small headlights looks modern and aggressive at the same time. However, the most important thing is what is not visible at first glance.

The Tacoma got the all-new TNGA-F platform already known from the Tundra and Sequoia models. It is still the frame in which the most rigid body is enclosed, which should lead to better handling and off-road properties.

Thanks to the new platform, the transport possibilities have also changed a bit – towing capacity decreased to 2,930 kg, while payload increased to 774 kg. Of course, these are still good values.

When it comes to information, the most important of them can be found under the hood. The new Tacoma has a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, supercharged with 232 hp as a base, then we have its most powerful variant, 275-horsepower. The most important, however, is the upper one.

It is a hybrid of I-Force Max already known from the large Tundra, combining a 2.4-liter combustion engine with a 50-horsepower electric motor. The total power of the set exceeds 330 hp, and the maximum torque is 660 Nm.

Toyota intends to offer the new Tacoma in four versions that differ in purpose and character. Depending on the variant, you’ll be able to choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. In inferior versions we will also find a manual gearbox.

An interesting novelty is the Trailhunter version, which joins the range of equipment versions. It will appeal to those who are looking for adventures, but not necessarily for extreme sports. We get here a suspension borrowed from the TRD range, metal bumpers, reinforced tow points or a standard roof tent.

The new Toyota Tacoma should be purchased at the end of 2023. At the moment, it is not known how much you will have to pay.
