Every year, the Bodensee Klassik rally is an attraction for fans young and old and offers the opportunity to see well-preserved cars from decades of automotive history. The tenth edition of the conference will take place from 4 to 6 May 2023, starting and ending in Friedrichshafen.
This year, a luxury model with a rich history will be on the road: the Peugeot 205 celebrates its 40th anniversary and, in its GTi variant, will compete in the rally with other historic cars.
Peugeot 205: 40 years
The Peugeot 205 marked the brand’s entry into the modern era and became a car of many talents: Whether in the city or in the countryside, as a family car or a car for singles, the Peugeot 205 was designed to meet many everyday needs. Compact yet spacious, practical and hatchback, efficient and economical at the same time – this model was perfect for every application.
The GTi variant of the Peugeot 205, with a 1.9 liter engine, produced 128 hp. It was characterized by good acceleration and good handling made it a popular model of the brand – it was produced in more than 330,000 copies.
In turn, in 1984, the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 entered the top class of the World Rally Championship, the famous “Group B”. This motorsport variant of the Peugeot 205 enjoyed many successes, culminating in victories in the famous Rally Raid in 1987 and 1988. The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 had four-wheel drive, a 200 hp engine and a maximum torque of 255 Nm. At those times – monster!
Bodensee Klassik: 288 km
The Peugeot 205 GTi competes in the Bodensee Klassik in its anniversary year. During the procession, up to 120 classic cars will race around Lake Constance on a spectacular route that connects Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The first day starts with a 60 km long introduction to the start of the route around Lake Constance on the second day. The 288 km route starts in Friedrichshain and takes you through Gallen and Bregenz until you cross the finish line back to Friedrichshain. On the third day of the Bodensee-Klassik, a trip through the Allgäu region and a drive through the picturesque Bad Waldsee is planned. In the evening, the three-day event will end with an award ceremony in a prestigious hall.
The Bodensee Klassik, an event in the border triangle, attracts thousands of classic car fans to the Lake Constance area every year and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Seniors and Juniors built up to 2003 can participate in the march. The event is completed with a culinary and musical program.
