Nissan Qashqai facelift 2024: A major facelift for the SUV

This is truly a facelift that deserves the name. Instead of tinkering with the headlights and apron, Nissan gave the Qashqai a completely new look. For the 2024 model year, after three years of construction of the third-generation Qashqai, support systems and equipment will also be expanded.

Samurai check on the grill

According to Nissan, the new radiator grille with several individual elements painted in glossy black is intended to remind of the “weapon scales” of the armor of Japanese samurai warriors. This grill now occupies most of the front, and the front apron has also been completely redesigned. This also brings a new design for the front lights with thin LED strips at the top and the main lights arranged at the bottom. Also new is the Nissan text featured on the brand logo.

Although the shape of the taillights remains untouched, the lights of the facelift model (for the Tekna, Tekna+ and N-Design equipment lines) are clearly recognizable thanks to the modified interior. Four red comma-shaped elements and a boomerang-shaped LED light for variable turn signals are placed under a transparent glass cover. The rear apron has been revised and is now smoother than the previous version with typical SUV styling features. The new bumper is available in one color – in gloss black for the top-end Tekna and Tekna+ variants or in body color for the new N-Design variant.

New paint, new interior

There are also three new colors: “White Pearl” and “Black Pearl” (the latter as a replacement for the previous black) and “Deep Sea”, which changes between dark blue and green depending on the lighting conditions. attitude. Two-tone paint finish with a black car roof is also available in individual colors.

The interior was redecorated. The N-Design and Tekna+ variants get Alcantara covers on the dashboard, center console and door trim, and there are generally new decorative elements, for example around the gearshift lever. New seat covers, including synthetic leather or genuine leather, optionally in different colors, are another feature of the Qashqai’s design update.

The already mentioned N-Design variant is new to the range, distinguished by 20-inch wheels and trim parts painted in the color of the car. We also show this version in the photo gallery. The N-Design seats are covered with a leather-Alcantara combination.

The camera system has been greatly expanded

The “Around View Monitor” camera system is supplemented by eight additional camera views that show the vehicle in three dimensions from the outside. The system also includes intelligent motion detection and traffic alert. In addition, the mode enables a display in the form of a “view through the bonnet” and a picture of the front wheels to drive particularly safely, for example on curbs. The system also includes a reservation function for frequently used parking spaces, which are automatically identified using GPS coordinates. Parking is then done automatically and accurately.

Support systems will be expanded to meet current regulations. According to Nissan, the emergency brake assist has “improved hazard recognition”; Lane keeping assistant is always active when the car is started and speed assist has a visual and acoustic warning if you are driving too fast.

Google an Bord

The Qashqai will be the first Nissan model offered in Europe to have integration with Google services that can be linked to a personal Google account, for example making places saved on Google Maps available in the car. This is compatible with the integration of Google Voice Assistant to control individual car settings, and specific apps can also be downloaded from the Google Playstore. The beautiful, new world of data goes even further: Amazon Alexa can also be used, for example, to listen to music or read the weather report. And the Nissan Connect program for remote control can now be used in the event of car theft not only to find the car, but also to immobilize it.

Market launch and pricing

That leaves a completely irrelevant chapter on the drives: This is fine in the end because nothing will change. The base engine is also a 1.3-liter small hybrid and the top engine is E-Power with a 190 hp electric motor for propulsion and a 1.5-liter three-cylinder as the power generator. Nissan has yet to announce a price or start of sales. The market launch is imminent, and the new models are already being produced at the UK factory in Sunderland.
