The prototype shown at the Chinese event shows the design of a possible electric version of the Chevrolet Camaro.

General Motors (GM) took advantage of its participation in the Guanghzhou Motor Show, in China, to present a new model of an electric car announced as ‘FNT-XE’, which could be the EV version of the Chevrolet Camaro, a model that was known for playing solid shape, solid engine and high price.

It is said that the prototype shown at the Chinese event developed at the Pan Asian Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) could be used as the basis for an electric variant of the Camaro. This information is based on the fact that the electric sedan of the GM brand uses the Ultium platform, which, as Canaltech recalls, is the same as used in the Cadillac Lyriq.

Images of the prototype show that the electric should take on a bold look similar to the Chevrolet Camaro, but with changes that make it a more “futuristic” version compared to the combustion model. “Front” shows a sharp design with the notorious trim on the hood, as well as the brand’s logo on the end.

According to rumors, General Motors may be interested in separating the Chevrolet subsidiary from the Camaro line, hence the name muscle car should launch a special division to house luxury and powerful models – it is not yet known if the category should focus only on sustainable cars or if the popular combustion engine will remain.
