Last Friday, May 19. Police officers from the Zawiercie traffic police joined the national control and prevention measures called. “Speed”. A higher than usual number of speed limit checks in the Zawiercie poviat aimed to reduce the number of offenses related to excessive speeding. Unfortunately, the balance of activity on Friday shows that drivers are still driving too fast.

– Police officers from the Zawiercie traffic police carried out 93 checks on the road. In as many as 79 cases, drivers exceeded the speed limit, including 41 times in the area of ​​pedestrian crossings. 65 drivers were fined and 14 were warned. 2 driving licenses were also suspended – podk commented. A large number of drivers do not comply with traffic laws, exceeding, among others, the permitted speed limit.

-In Biskupice, a 19-year-old BMW driver was driving at a speed of 103 km/h. In Zawiercie, on Myśliwska Street, the 48-year-old Infinity driver had a speed of 102 km/h. In both cases, the speed limit was 50 km/h. Both drivers were fined Shs 1,500. zlotys. Each of them also received 13 penalty points – comments podk. – The driver’s license was also suspended for the 46-year-old driver of a Daewoo Tico, who, with more than 1.5 millie of alcohol in his body, was driving along Zegadłowicz Street in Zawiercie.
