These six accessories make the Polestar 2 unique

These six accessories make the Polestar 2 unique

1. Your butt is the start button

Very simple and yet very useful: the Polestar 2 does not have a start button. It is activated as soon as you log in. The sensor is on the driver’s seat, so your butt is the start button. A touch screen standing in the middle of the dashboard and a digital instrument behind the wheel come to life. To take off, all you have to do is step on the brake pedal and put the gear selector in Drive, and off you go.

2. Hey Google!

Polestar 2 is the first car in the world to run on Google’s operating system. What you find is that voice control answers many questions. Yell, “Hey Google!”, and you’ll want your kids to listen to you like a Polestar 2. You can also request an air conditioner to get a degree or request your favorite song via integrated Spotify.

You can navigate easily with Google Maps: destinations are quickly found and predicted traffic delays are accurate to the minute. Although information about charging stations on your route can still be improved. Future updates will fix this, Polestar’s CEO promises.

3. Not all features are digital

Cameras, sensors and touch screens are becoming increasingly important in modern cars. Polestar 2 has adaptive cruise control, which automatically maintains the distance from the vehicle in front and operates at speeds from 0 to 180 km / h. Thanks to active lane assist and blind spot warning, you don’t have to do much as a driver anymore. In the large 11.25-inch touchscreen in the middle, almost all functions are integrated, such as navigation, air conditioning and infotainment.

But not everything is digital. Polestar chooses, unlike Tesla, for example, to allow other features to work as you are used to. The multimedia system has an old-fashioned rotary knob to increase or decrease the volume. To the right of the steering column you will still find the stalk for the windshield wiper.

4. The North Star is everywhere

Polestar has found some interesting design tricks on the star it’s named after. You only see the special ones when it’s dark. Then the Polestar logo is displayed on the panoramic roof. The logo is also included on the gear knob, as are the alloy wheels.

5. Polestar Performance Pack

Those who have never driven an electric car may fear that the driving experience is not very pleasant. Of course you should do it in an electric car without the refined sound of a six-cylinder or the sound of a V8. But they are fast, in part because full pulling power is already available from a standstill. The Polestar 2 is good for 408 hp and 660 Nm of torque. The race from 0 to 100 km / h is completed in 4.7 seconds.

More emotions are not necessary, but possible. Then you’ll have to order the optional Performance Package (6000 euros), with Brembo brakes, Öhlins adaptive dampers and 20-inch forged alloy wheels. Brake calipers, valve caps and seat belts are in ‘Swedish gold’. The damping of the Polestar 2 with the Performance Package can be adjusted in 22 different positions. Now we have to say: even without this bag, Polestar is enough sports, and strong mufflers should be just your taste.

6. The Polestar 2 can tow 1,500 pounds

Not all electric vehicles can or are allowed to tow a trailer. But the Polestar 2 can be ordered with a folding towbar, with which you can even hang a trailer that weighs 1500 kg. So you can safely transport a barrel of real estate and even a not very heavy caravan is not a problem for the Polestar 2. The semi-electric bar, folding costs 1100 euros.
