The accident happened on Thursday night around 1:30 in the morning in Marcinelle, near Charleroi. The Ferrari plowed into four parked cars while passing the truck and then burst into flames.
Several residents of the area were awakened by the noise. “I was just at home when the accident happened,” says one man RTL. “Once I went out to check, I saw how the people inside were trapped as the fire spread rapidly. They called for help, but we couldn’t do anything, just wait for the fire brigade to arrive. The police arrived quickly, but they didn’t know what to do. We could only watch what was happening ahead ours. There was nothing that could be done. It’s so amazing to see people in a fire like this, helpless, unable to do anything to help them. It’s very sad.”
Firefighters arrived at the scene, but were unable to save the occupants. It is about two people born in 1997. Their car caught fire, like three other cars. Fearing that the fire would spread to the house, it was evacuated. The couple lived there with their child, they were not injured.
