The British claim that this is the first car in the all-new “Super Tourer” category. It is supposed to be an unparalleled combination of performance and luxury.

Aston Martin is celebrating its 110th birthday this year and the DB12 is one of the surprises in store for fans. However, many may consider that this is a slightly “more” look of the DB11, which debuted in 2016.

Visually, however, we should have no trouble distinguishing the two cars. Especially when we look at the new Aston Martin from the front.

The large grill catches the eye, which may remind some sea creatures. Next to it, new lamps made of LED technology were installed.

There are 21-inch wheels on the wheel arches, which are 8 kg lighter than the 20-inch ones from the previous model. The rims are shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 5S tires, designed specifically for the DB12.

Thanks to the use of foam inside, they are stable, but they must also be able to efficiently transfer the power of the engine to the pavement. Unfortunately, at least for now, we won’t get twelve cylinders under the hood.

The manufacturer decided to install a twin-turbocharged 4.0 V8 unit. The Mercedes-AMG engine produces 680 horsepower and 800 Newton meters of torque.

The unit is equipped with an 8-speed gearbox, which transmits the aforementioned parameters to the rear wheels. Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 3.6 seconds and top speed is 325 km/h.

The chassis changes ensure better handling. We have a 7 percent stiffer design, an electronic rear differential, and “smart” variable fluids.

Customers can opt for an optional ceramic brake kit. It is 27 kg lighter than the standard one, and is definitely more efficient and durable.

Inside, there is an all-new dashboard, new steering wheel, cockpit and a new 10.25-inch infotainment screen. The driver will benefit from Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G connectivity.

The list of equipment options includes, among others: a Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 15 speakers, or bucket seats made of carbon fiber. The whole thing looks more modern and elegant.

Aston Martin DB12 will enter the market in the fourth quarter of 2023. Soon we can expect the premiere of the most stylish version of the Volante, i.e. with an opening roof.
